National Cowboy Symposium and Celebration
This celebration of western heritage includes cowboy poets, musicians, storytellers,
crafts, and cook-offs. Lubbock has the nation's largest event of its kind, drawing
international participants to the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

Fiestas del Llano

Each fall, this festival celebrates the pride and national heritage of
Mexican-Americans. The tree-day fiesta culminates with Diez
y Seis de Septiembre - the celebration of the Mexican national holiday
that commemorates the victory of the Mexican Army over Spanish in the
Batalla de Puebla. Ethnic food, entertainment, and dancing at the
Lubbock Memorial Civic Center add to the fun.

Plains Fair
This annual fair features midway carnival rides, horse and livestock
shows, commercial and industrial exhibits, a flower festival, women's
and educational exhibits, and competitions. Well-Known
entertainers appear annually.

true Native American Celebration. Spectators can expect artifacts,
